Finished reading: The Apocalypse Seven by Gene Doucette 📚
As soon as I finished The Spaceship Next Door I had a look for the author’s other books. I got mixed up between a couple and I thought this one was the sequel. It’s not, but I borrowed a copy anyway.
This is a different story, but told with the same narrative style that again feels distinct from most other sci-fi I’ve read. Still very enjoyable; I finished this one in just a few evenings.
My only gripe with this book was that the author clearly had a familiarity with the area (they note that they spent quite a bit of time there in real life) but I’ve never been to Cambridge and so the frequent specific references to real streets and landmarks were all lost on me. Despite that, I could certainly follow along and enjoyed the story.
Another fun read. I’m looking forward to getting a copy of the actual sequel to that first book.
